Pregnancy and maternity

As an employee you are entitled to a minimum of 14 weeks paid maternity leave (98 days) beginning from the day of the birth.

Children

In Switzerland, children usually begin compulsory schooling at the age of six/seven. They often attend kindergarten two years before starting school.

Since the Swiss educational system is organized in accordance with the federal political structure, each canton is responsible for its own education system.
