Description
This is a position for a postdoctoral fellow at the NIH-funded Koutroulis lab at Children's National Research Institute and the Center for Genetic Medicine Research in Washington, DC. The lab focuses on the immune and metabolic pathophysiologic changes in sepsis and septic encephalopathy using murine models and the development of extracellular vesicle-based treatments. Additionally, there are opportunities for translational projects on the use of biomarkers and artificial intelligence/machine learning for the development of early warning systems in sepsis diagnostics. The postdoctoral fellow will spend 24 months as an integral member of the team and participate in lab meetings, Center meetings and presentations. This is an exciting opportunity for someone that wants to enhance their laboratory skills and develop a line of research on sepsis and severe infections.
