Koç University Call for Expressions of Interest Marie Curie Actions Individual Fellowship - MSCA – IF
(Deadline 22 May 2020)
Koç University Law School invites expressions of interest from post-doctoral researchers to apply for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Individual Fellowship.
Koç University has a fast-growing and dynamic law school which was founded in 2003 and has recruited excellent talents at all levels in recent years. Koç University Law School is committed to the pursuit of excellence in both research and teaching. Its aim is to provide world class education and research opportunities to a high-quality group of students by distinguished faculty. More detailed information about Law School can be found on the web site: https://law.ku.edu.tr/en/
Interested candidates -if successful- will be working under the supervision of Prof. Bertil Emrah Oder, Dean of Law School. Prof. Oder also holds UNESCO Chair on Gender Equality and Sustainable Development. The ideal candidates are expected to follow their research on comparative constitutional law with a focus on comparative constitutional review, protection of fundamental rights and freedoms (incl. international human rights law), elections and political participation, democratic decline, gender equality (incl. CEDAW and Istanbul Convention), and freedom of expression.
How to Submit Your Expression of Interest:
Potential candidates are asked to submit their CV, a brief outline of the proposed research (max 2 pages) and a cover letter highlighting why you believe this area of work will be suited to work at Koç University as the host institution (max 1 page).
Please submit your documents via e-mail koclawschool@ku.edu.tr by 22 May 2020.
After online interviews, successful applicants will be approved to have Koç University as host institution and invited to a training session at the University to complete their full application for the grant deadline.
Description of the MSCA Fellowship Program:
The purpose of the MSCA Individual Fellowship (IF) is to support the mobility of researchers and help attract promising foreign researchers to work in the European context (EU Member States and Horizon 2020 Associated Countries) and beyond. The grant typically covers two years' salary, a mobility allowance, research costs and overheads for the host institution.
The scheme particularly supports the return and (re)integration of European researchers from outside Europe and those who have previously worked here, as well as researchers displaced by conflict outside the EU and Horizon 2020 Associated Countries. It also promotes the career restart of individual researchers who show great potential.
The mobility rules require that the researcher has not resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of their host organization for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the reference date (exceptions to this apply under the career restart and reintegration panels).
