Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA PF) target researchers holding a PhD who wish to acquire new skills through advanced training, international, inter-sectoral and interdisciplinary mobility. All domains of research and innovation are eligible for funding.
MSCA PF provide an extremely enriching experience, that enhance the career perspectives for researchers. Université Lumière Lyon 2 will provide researchers with many benefits: constant and effective support.

Here are the following information we need to assess your profile and forward it to our researchers:
- A CV (education, professional experience, publications, invitations to conferences, organisation of conferences, prizes and awards, funding received so fair, other items of interest)
- A brief description of your project/project idea (you don't have to have entirely figured out your project, but our researchers need to be able to get an idea of it).
Please make sure your project aligns with the disciplines of our laboratories.
If you contact us without a CV and a brief description of your project, we won't forward your profile to our researchers.
2025 call
- Opens on April 9th 2025;
- Closes on September 10th 2025.
Eligible researchers
- At the time of the deadline call, the researcher must be in possession of a doctoral degree or have successfully defended their doctoral thesis before the call deadline.
- The researcher must have not resided or carried out their main activity in the country of the beneficiary for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately prior to the call deadline.
- The research must have a maximum of 8 years of research experience from the date of award of the doctoral degree.
Types of grants
There are 2 types of postdoctoral fellowships:
- European Postdoctoral Fellowships. They last between 12 to 24 months. They take place in an EU Member State or an Associated Country. The researcher can be of any nationality. The researcher must have not resided or carried his main activity in said country for more than 12 months over the last 3 years prior to the call deadline.
- Global postdoctoral fellowships. They last 24 to 36 months. They are composed of two phases:
- Phase 1 is called the outgoing phase; it takes place in a non-associated Third Country for 12 to 24 months.
- Phase 2 is called the return phase; it takes place in an EU Member State or Associated Country for 12 months.
Only nationals or long-term residents of the EU Member State or Associated Country can apply.
Supervisors and research topics
Researchers who don’t have a supervisor yet should check the webpages of the Université Lumière Lyon 2 to find the best supervisor for their research proposal.
Researchers should then agree with their Université Lumière Lyon 2 supervisor on their project idea. Researchers will choose their research topic freely, in collaboration with their supervisor.
