Scientific Exchange Programme between the New Member States (NMS) of the EU and Switzerland
The enlargement of the European Union (EU) represents a major step towards securing peace, stability and prosperity in Europe. To support this process, the Swiss Parliament has decided to finance a contribution to the reduction of economic and social disparities in the enlarged European Union. Eight of the new Member States, i.e. the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, the Slovak Republic and Slovenia, have decided that scientific cooperation, and in particular scholarships, are to be part of the Swiss contribution. The resulting scientific exchange programme is open to all faculties and sciences.
The SDC has the overall responsibility for the Scientific Exchange Programme (Sciex-NMSch). The programme will be implemented by CRUS.
